ImaginationHello all and Welcome to the Discussion,

The ethos of this blog  is not pure science, is not pseudoscience – rather it is an exercise for the inquisitive mind. A chance to take a scientific concept and run with it to the ends of the earth. Essentially this is a page for discussing ideas and theories however mad or farfetched they may be. After all Einstein said “Imagination is more important than knowledge”, and I happen to agree.

Science has become too bogged down in it’s dogged and mundane attempts to prove itself, so much so that it almost disallows genuine ingenuity. To come up with an idea or theory based on a few observations but without any “proof” or historical support is so frowned upon in science, as to almost bully its scientists into a neat little sealed box with no holes to view what’s outside. Whilst science requires the burden of proof, it shouldn’t give a sense of inhibition to its scientists in their thought process’ and what they can dream up. The theory comes first, the proof later. Let the mind run ragged into the realms of fantasy, and then reel it back to see what small, new fact may have been captured there in the net.

It is the leaps of imagination, based on some simple observations that (historically have) and will eventually lead to the largest progressions of real science and philosophy. So throw in some creativity, philosophy, metaphysics or spirituality into the mix. Lets see what our minds show us. I’m not suggesting that many or any of the ideas you or I come up with are in anyway correct, more than likely not.. but that is not the point! This an exercise for the mind, in pushing the boundaries of thought, of “what ifs”.

We are blurring the lines of science fiction and fact, what is truth and what is dogma…  The exploration of an idea should be where the joy is rather than the being right or wrong.

*Attention creatives!* (in cardiff)
I have been in touch with indycube  in the bay about allowing people/creatives in on a Sunday to use the space for writing or whatever work you want to do – there is free wifi, coffee and desk space! normally they charge £10 a desk. It is usually only open mon-fri to people who use it for their main job, but if i can get a captive audience or people who would like to use the space on Sunday then he will make me a key holder and we can begin working on projects and perhaps collaborating and networking! It would be free to begin with and then might go to to the normal £10 a desk. please send me a message if youre interested – either on facebook (gimme your email too) or to josiejo.wales@gmail.com

Imagination

Hello all and Welcome to the Discussion,

I’m at work today (with obviously rather little to do) so this will be brief! Essentially this is a page for discussing ideas and theories however mad or farfetched they maybe. After all Einstein said “Imagination is more important than knowledge”, and I happen to agree.

Science has become too bogged down in it’s dogged and mundane attempts to prove itself, so much so that it almost disallows genuine ingenuity. To come up with an idea or theory based on a few observations but without any “proof” or historical support almost poo-poos you straight out the the room. But it is the leap of imagination, based on some simple observations that will eventually lead to the largest progressions of real science and philosophy. So throw in some creativity, philosophy, metaphysics or spirituality into the mix. Lets see what our minds show us. I’m not suggesting that many of the ideas you or I come up with are in anyway correct, more than likely not.. but that is not the point! We are blurring the lines of science fiction and fact, what is truth and what is dogma…  The exploration of an idea should be where the joy is rather than the being right or wrong.

Interspersed with these discussion based on science, philosophy and spirituality will probably be some well placed geekiness. I am a huge Sci-Fi fan and also a science-fiction writer and this blog may well serve as a muse 🙂
